TCP/IP—Name given to the suite of protocols (including but not limited to TCP and IP) that
govern the transmission and services of a network. The TCP indicates a transport layer and the
IP indicates an internet layer.
TCP port—A logical connection point in the software on a TCP/IP host.

UDP—User Datagram Protocol: a connectionless type of a protocol which is suitable for
transferring small packets.
