Naming the computers and the
workgroup
The first time you use networking on your computer, you need
to give each computer a unique name and assign each
computer to the same workgroup.
If you are naming the computers and workgroup in
Windows 2000, see “To identify a Windows 2000 computer on
the network:” on page 26.
If you are naming the computer and workgroup in
Windows 98SE or Windows Me, see “To identify a
Windows 98SE or Windows Me computer on the network:” on
page 24.
To identify a Windows 98SE or Windows Me
computer on the network:

Click Start, Settings, then click Control Panel. The
Control Panel window opens.
2 If you are using Windows Me, click view all Control Panel
options.
3 Double-click the Network icon. The Network dialog box
opens.
