Docking connector cable
NOTE: The docking connector cable is included in the Cable Kit, spare part number 709459-001.
Before removing the docking connector cable, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the display assembly (see
Display assembly on page 26).
5. Remove the system board (see
System board on page 42).
6.
Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 54).
Remove the docking connector cable:
1. Disconnect the speaker cable (1) from the docking connector cable.
2. Remove the two Phillips PM1.4×2.0 screws (2) that secure the docking connector cable bracket to
the bottom case.
3.
Remove the docking connector cable bracket (3).
NOTE: The docking connector cable bracket is included in the Bracket Kit, spare part number
718834-001.
4. Release the docking connector cable (1) from the bottom case surface. (The docking connector
cable is attached to the bottom case in multiple locations with double-sided adhesive.)
5. Release the docking connector cable by sliding it forward (2) and to the left (3).
