For Windows 2000:
Note: To use Fn+F12 for hibernation in Windows 2000, you must have the
IBM PM device driver installed on your computer.
1. Start the ThinkPad Configuration Program.
2. Click Power Management.
3. Click the Hibernate tab.
4. Select the Enable hibernate support checkbox.
5. Click OK.
Computer screen problems
Problem: The screen is blank.
Solution: Press the Fn+Home keys to make the screen brighter. If the problem
persists, perform the “Solution” in the problem below.
Problem: The screen is unreadable or distorted.
Solution: Make sure that:
v The display device driver is installed correctly.
v The display resolution and color depth are correctly set.
v The monitor type is correct.
To check these settings, do as follows:
For Windows 98 or Windows 2000:
1. Click Start → Settings → Control Panel.
2. Double-click the Display icon.
3. Click the Settings tab.
4. Check whether the color depth and resolution are correctly set.
5. Click Advanced...
6. Click the Adapter tab.
7. Make sure “RAGE MOBILITY-M PCI” or “S3_Inc. Savage/IX w/MV” is
shown in the adapter information window.
8. Click the Monitor tab. (For Windows 2000, it is shown as “ATI RAGE
MOBILITY-M PCI” instead of “RAGE MOBILITY-M PCI”.)
9. Make sure the information is correct.
For Windows NT:
1. Click Start → Settings → Control Panel.
2. Double-click the Display icon.
3. Click the Settings tab.
