This section will assist you in using the Short Messaging System client in MobiLink 2
3.1 WHAT IS SMS
Short Message Service (SMS) is the transmission of short text messages to and from mobile devices. Messages
cannot be longer than 160 alpha-numeric characters and cannot contain any images or graphics.
To send or receive an SMS message you only have to be attached to the Network. You may also send and
receive SMS messages while connected to the Network.
NOTE: ANY SMS MESSAGES WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE TERMS AND AGREEMENTS OF YOUR SERVICE
WIRELESS PROVIDER. THIS MEANS THE SENDING OF SMS MESSAGES MAY BE CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL
FEE BY YOUR WIRELESS PROVIDER
NOTE: THE SMS CLIENT ICON WILL ONLY BECOME ACTIVE ONCE YOU ARE ATTACHED, HENCE YOU MAY
SEND AND RECEIVE SMS MESSAGES WHILE ATTACHED TO THE NETWORK.
ATTACHED TO NETWORK: YOU CANNOT TRANSFER DATA.
CONNECTED TO NETWORK: YOU CAN TRANSFER DATA (BROWSE INTERNET, CHECK EMAIL ETC…)
