1.5 Your Broadband Connection Bandwidth Consideration
In order to achieve good voice quality when using the V200 VoIP feature, we recommend
that you use the V200 on a broadband connection with an upstream speed of at least
128kpbs. This should allow you to have two simultaneous VoIP calls (with G.729 codec)
using the V200 with good voice quality**. The more bandwidth you have, the better the
quality.
**Note: If your broadband router/modem handles the Internet traffic for your LAN
network, then the V200 voice quality might be affected when you are
in heavy Internet usage. If your router has QoS feature, please enable
and configure it to give V200 traffic high priority. V200 also has its QoS
feature, please see section 5.2 in the User Guide on the V200 CD ROM
for instructions on how to use it.
