TROUBLESHOOTING
If you have problems, here are some suggestions which might help.
If none of these suggestions help, take your scanner to your local Ra-
dioShack store for assistance.
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDY
Scanner is on but
will not scan.
SQUELCH
is not
adjusted correctly.
Adjust
SQUELCH
clockwise.
Only one channel or
no channels are
stored.
Store frequencies
into more than one
channel.
Channels are locked
out.
Remove the lockout.
Scanner is totally
inoperative.
No power. Check the batteries
or make sure the AC
adapter or DC
adapter is con-
nected properly.
Recharge the
rechargeable batter-
ies or replace the
non-rechargeable
batteries.
The AC adapter or
DC adapter is not
connected.
Be sure the
adapter’s barrel plug
is fully plugged into
the
POWER
jack.
In the scan mode,
the scanner locks
on frequencies that
have an unclear
transmission.
“Birdies.” Avoid programming
frequencies listed
under “Birdie Fre-
quencies” on
Page 31 or only lis-
ten to them manu-
ally.
