Connections
The UP-DR100 can be connected to computers and
peripheral devices equipped with a SCSI interface.
Notes
Before making connections, always turn off all
connected devices.
Connect the power cord last.
Refer to the operating manual of each device for
details of connections between the printer, computer
and peripherals.
SCSI cable connectors should be firmly mated at each
end.
The total length of SCSI cables connected to a single
host computer should not be longer than 3 meters.
When connecting only the printer to a single host
computer, the SCSI cable should not be longer than 1
meter.
To print, a driver is required that corresponds to the
hardware environment in which the printer is to be
used.
Pay attention to the following when connecting the
SCSI cable.
The SCSI connector has been mounted onto the
slanting surface of the unit for easy insertion of the
cable. Be sure to insert the SCSI cable straight into the
SCSI connector as shown in the figure. If you insert
the SCSI cable into the SCSI connector at angles, this
may result in bending the small pins inside the SCSI
connector and it may not work.
Note
The proper SCSI cable to use depends on the computer
or peripheral device to be connected. Refer to the
operating manuals for details.
Also, be sure to use a shielded-type cable comforming to
the FAST SCSI (high impendance) standards.
When turning power on
Turn on any peripheral devices before turning the
computer on. Make sure that every device in the SCSI
chain is turned on.
