4-13 SCSI (Super) GEM Driver Installation Instructions
for Windows OS
Note: This driver is not necessary for other operating systems. If you have two SCA
backplanes, you will need to install the driver twice. The driver is located on the
Super Micro motherboard driver CD or may be downloaded from the Supermicro
ftp site: ftp://ftp.supermicro.com/driver/Qlogic/
Follow the procedure below to install this driver onto your system.
Installing the Driver
Right click on the 1. My Computer icon and choose Properties.
Select the 2. Hardware tab and click on Device Manager.
Open 3. System Devices or browse to the location of GEM318.
Right click on this device and select 4. Properties.
Click on 5. Driver tab and select Update Driver.
Click the 6. Next button twice.
Uncheck both options for 7. Floppy Disk Drives and CD-ROM Drives.
Select 8. Specify a Location and click the Next button.
Click on the 9. Browse button and select the drive containing the Supermicro
Setup CD.
Select the 10. Qlogic folder and click on the Open button.
System will automatically detect GEM318 and install the drive from this point 11.
