Problems and Solutions
If you encounter problems even though you have followed the
installation and use instructions of the modem, refer to the
following table that lists the most common failures and their
solutions.
Identifying the current problem
Symptom Solution
The software
indicates that the
modem is not
installed.
Check the software configuration.
Make sure that it is configured for the
appropriate COM port (in most cases it
should be set to COM2). Check also that
no other application is using this same
port. Check also that the modem is
properly inserted in its casing.
The modem displays
double characters on
the terminal screen.
Both the modem and the application
local echoes are turned on.
To turn local echo off type:
