Nib. The replaceable tip of the Intuos2 Pen or Airbrush.
Pen Mode. A method of positioning the screen cursor. Wherever you place your Intuos2 tool on the
tablet, the screen cursor will be at that same corresponding point on the screen. This is known as
absolute positioning, and allows you to position the screen cursor without having to first find it and then
move it with a “pick up and roll” action. See also Mouse Mode
.
Pixel. The smallest unit of measure on your monitor screen.
Pop-up Menu. A window that displays a list of keystroke functions and mapping options. You can
customize your Wacom pen or mouse tool buttons or tablet buttons to display this menu.
Portrait. A tablet O
RIENTATION setting. In portrait orientation, the tablet buttons are on the side.
Rectangular tablets will be in a vertical position. See also landscape
.
Pressure sensitive. A quality of the Intuos2 Pen and Airbrush tip and eraser that senses the amount of
pressure being applied. This is used to create natural-looking pen, brush, and eraser strokes in
applications that are pressure-sensitive.
Pressure-sensitive application. Any application that supports pressure-sensitive input.
Proximity. The height (6 mm (0.24 inch)) above the tablet’s activ
e area where the Intuos2 tools are
detected.
QuickPoint. The Q
UICKPOINT MODE divides the tablet into two independent areas: a large area for
drawing and a small area for quick navigation.
