REWIRINGMOTHERBOARDHEADERCONNECTIONS
Theremaycomeatimewhenyouneedtoreconfigurethepin‐outofa
motherboardheaderconnector.ExamplescouldbeforyourUSBheader,
audioinputheader,orsomeotherfrontpanelconnectorsuchasthe
PowerButtonconnector.
Beforeperforminganywork,pleaserefertoyourmotherboarduser’s
manual
oryourmotherboardmanufacturer'swebsitetobesureofthe
pin‐outneededforyourconnector.Westronglyrecommendmakinga
notateddrawingbeforebeginningworksothatyoucanrecoverifyour
workgetsdisturbed.

1. Determinewhichwiresyouneedtoremoveinordertorewireyour
plugtomatchtheUSBpin‐outsonyourmotherboard(refertoyour
motherboarduser’smanual).Workingononeconnectoratatime,
useaverysmallflatheadscrewdriverorsimilartooltoliftuponthe
black
tablocatedbesidethegoldposts(squares).Thiswillallowyou
toeasilyslideoutthepinsfromtheUSBplug.
2. Workingcarefullysoasnottodamage thewires,connectors, or
pins,slowlyremovethepinfromtheconnector.Repeatthesesteps
foreachwireyouneedto
change.
3. Workingcarefullysoasnottodamage thewires,con nectorsor
pins,slowlyreinsertthepinintothecorrectslotoftheconnector
thensnapclosedtheblacktabthatwasliftedinstep1.Repeat
thesestepsforeachwireyouneedtochange.
