2.5 Installing a DIMM
The system motherboard comes with four Double Data Rate 2 (DDR2) Dual Inline
Memory Module (DIMM) sockets.
The following gure illustrates the location of the sockets:

2.5.1 Memorycongurations
You may install 256 MB, 512 MB, 1 GB, and 2 GB unbuffered non-ECC DDR2
DIMMs into the DIMM sockets.
RecommendedMemoryCongurations
• For dual-channel memory conguration, you may install identical DIMMs in
all two sockets.
• Always use identical DDR2 DIMM pairs for dual-channel model. For
optimum compatibility, we recommend that you obtain memory modules
from the same vendor. Visit the ASUS website (www.asus.com) for the
latest Qualied Vendors List.
