Modem module 510100-011
Before removing the modem module, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 47).
5. Remove the hard drive cover (see
Hard drive on page 56), if not already removed.
Remove the modem module:
1. Remove the 2 Phillips 2.0×3.0 screws (1) that hold the module in place.
2. Lift up along the back edge of the module (2).
3. Disconnect the modem cable (3) when the module is free of the bay.
Reverse this procedure to install a modem module.
