Power light – Illuminates when the
computer is powered on. The different
lights indicate the following:
On battery power:
Solid white • – computer is running on
battery power
Solid amber • – battery is low
Flashing amber • – battery is critically low
Blinking white • – computer in in sleep state
On AC adapter:
Solid white • – computer is powered on
and battery is charged
Blinking white • – computer is in standby
state

Security cable slot – Attaches a
commercially available antitheft device to
the computer.
NOTE: Before you buy an antitheft
device, ensure that it works with the
security cable slot.

VGA connector – Connects to a
monitor or projector.

Network connector – Connects
your computer to a network or broadband
device if you are using a cabled network
signal.

USB connector – Connects USB
devices, such as a mouse, keyboard,
printer, external drive, or MP3 player.

DisplayPort connector – Digital
interface standard connector that
supports an external DisplayPort monitor.

HDMI connector – Connects to a TV
for both 5.1 audio and video signals.
This connector cannot be used as an input
port for HDMI.
NOTE: When used with a monitor,
only the video signal is read.
