For the Router’s Routing Table
For the LAN shown above, with 2 routers and 3 LAN segments, the Router requires to add 2 static
routes as follows:
ADSL Router
Destination 192.168.10.0
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 (Standard Class C)
Gateway 192.168.1.254 (Router B)
IP Routing – Dynamic Routing
Routing Information Protocol (RIP) is utilized as a means of exchanging routing information
between routers. It helps the routers to determine optimal routes. This page allows you to
enable/disable this function.
Version: It incorporates the RIP
information when receiving and
broadcasting the RIP packets. From the radio
buttons, select a RIP version to be accepted,
1, 2 or both.
Operation:
There are two modes for you to choose,
Active and Passive. Select Active for
transmitting and receiving data, or select
Passive for receiving data only.
Enabled:
Click Enabled to enable the RIP function on
different interface. Otherwise, disable this
function.
Click Apply to invoke the settings set here.
DNS Server
If Enable Automatic Assigned DNS checkbox is selected, this router will accept the first received
DNS assignment from one of the PPPoA, PPPoE or MER/DHCP enabled PVC(s) during the
connection establishment. If the checkbox is not selected, it is necessary for you to enter the primary
and optional secondary DNS server IP addresses. After type in the address, click Apply button to
save it and invoke it.
Enable Automatic Assigned DNS:
Check this box to enable this function, or
uncheck this box to disable it.
Primary DNS server:
Type in your primary DNS server.
Secondary DNS server:
Type in the secondary DNS server.
If you are satisfied the settings, click Apply.
