allocated by your ISP. This address should be static, rather than dynamic, to make it easier for
Internet users to connect to your Servers. However, you can use Dynamic DNS feature to allow
users to connect to your virtual servers by using a URL, instead of an IP address.
To set a virtual server, please open the
Virtual Servers item from the Advanced
Setup - NAT menu.
Add New Virtual Servers
To add a new Virtual Server, please click Add. In the “Select from the following list” drop-down
list, you can select required entry
Select from the following list:
Choose one of the services from the list,
such as SMTP, WEB, FTP, DNS and so on.
The corresponding data will be shown on the
data boxes below.
Customized service:
Type a new service name for building a
customized service for specific reason.
Protocol:
Select a protocol for the service that you
choose.
External port for this service:
The port number will be shown
automatically when you select a service for
using. You can type a new number if you
want to do a customized service.
Internal port for this service:
The port number will be shown
automatically when you select a service for
using. You can type a new number if you
want to do a customized service.
Internal server IP address:
Type in the server IP address when you want
to specify a certain address for the virtual
server.
1. Select the protocol type from the
drop-down list.
2. Enter the TCP/IP port information in the
External and Internal Port for this service
fields.
3. Enter the IP address of the internal server
in the Internal server IP Address filed.
4. Click Apply.
IP addresses can be automatically redirected to local servers configured with private IP addresses. In
other words, depending on the requested service (TCP/UDP port number), the router redirects the
external service request to the appropriate server (located at another internal IP address).
