Enterasys NAC Controllerintoarackorcabinet,Enterasys NAC Controllerconfiguration
guidelines,andoperatingspecificationsfortheEnterasys NAC Controller.
Site Guidelines
Thefollowingguidelinesmustbeobservedwhenasiteisselectedforthe
Enterasys NAC Controller.Iftheguidelinesarenotfollowed,unsatisfactorynetworkperformance
mayresult.
•Toensureproperventilationandpreventoverheatingofthechassisineithertherackmounted
orstandaloneconfiguration,theremustbe5.1centimeters(2 inches)ofclearanceon
either
sideandintherearoftheunit.
•ToinstalltheEnterasys NAC Controllerasafreestandingunitonashelf,theshelfmustbe
abletosupport13.6kilograms(30pounds)ofstaticweight.
•ToinstalltheEnterasys NAC Controllerasarackmountedunit,caremustbetakentoensure
thattherackused
willsupporttheunitandthattherackremainsstable.
•ThepowersuppliesfortheEnterasys NAC Controllerrequiretwothree‐prongedpower
receptaclescapableofdeliveringthecurrentandvoltagespecifiedin“PowerSupply”on
page A‐2.Twoacoutletsonindependentlyfusedcircuitsarerequiredforeachpowersupply,
and
mustbelocatedlessthan2meters(6 feet)fromthesite.Thepowercordusedandtypeof
outletisdependentonthecountry.IntheUnitedStates,twopowercordswithNEMA5‐15P
plugsareprovidedwitheachpowersupply.
•Ambienttemperatureattheinstallationsitemustbemaintained
between5°and40°C
(41° to 104°F).Temperaturechangesmustbemaintainedwithin10°C(18°F)perhour.
