Connection
Symptom Resolution
The computer does not support
bidirectional parallel interface.
Use a computer supporting bi-
directional parallel interface.
The parallel cable may not match
the port.
Use a IEEEstd1284-1994
compliant bidirectional parallel
interface cable.
Interface is set to DISABLE. B4500/B4600: Set Centronics to
ENABLE on the printer menu. See
page “PARALLEL MENU” on
page 40.
B4400: Open the Status Monitor.
On the Printer Setup Tab, click the
Open Configuration button. Click
Parallel Menu, Parallel Enable.
A parallel cable is disconnected. Connect the parallel cable
