Installing the Print Server Software
The EpsonNet Internal Print Server supports IEEE 802.2, IEEE 802.3, Ethernet II,
and Ethernet SNAP network protocols. Your users can print from Microsoft
Windows,
Apple Macintosh, UNIX, and IBM OS/2 applications. This chapter
describes the print server software and includes instructions for installing some of the
utilities.
New features of the print server include support for Windows 2000 IPP (Internet
Printing Protocol), printer status pages, and Port 9100. Because the print server
supports the printer MIB (RFC 1759) standard, proxy response and SNMP settings
such as SNMP community, IP trap, and IPX trap are available with EpsonNet
WebAssist.
The following utilities are included on your CD-ROM for the print server:
EpsonNet WinAssist or MacAssist
Lets you configure the print server for TCP/IP, NetWare, NetBEUI, or
AppleTalk. See page 16 or 17 for installation instructions. Then see the
Administrator’s Manual for more information.
EpsonNet WebAssist
WebAssist is pre-installed on the print server card and lets you configure the print
server using your browser. See page 18 for a list of supported browsers. Then see
the Administrator’s Manual for more information.
EpsonNet WebManager (Windows only)
Provides printer management and monitoring features using your browser across
the Internet or your Intranet. See page 19 for details.
