FireBall™ DVDM-300 User’s Manual
EXTERNAL CONTROL
SURROUND MODE SETTINGS
FireBall will automatically switch the proper video and audio output from the appropriate DVD
changer when you play a movie title. This allows you to use one input on your a/v receiver or TV
instead of 3. You may use either composite, S-video, or component video connections and analog,
digital, or 5.1 analog audio connections from each changer to the FireBall. Use the same tye of
connections for all changers. Also use the same types of connections from FireBall to your A/V
receiver or TV monitor.
FireBall is equipped with the following video input and output ports:
• 2 composite video outputs (touch panel and TV)
• 2 S-video outputs (touch panel and TV)
• 1 set of component video outputs
• 3 sets composite video inputs
• 3 sets of S-video inputs
• 3 sets of component video inputs
Follow these steps to set the Surround Mode Settings:
1. Press the SETUP key on the remote control.
2. Select the External Control Menu.
3. Select the Surround Mode Settings.
5. Set the desired media to the desired receiver mode.
6. Highlight the SAVE button and press SELECT to save the settings.
Note: FireBall does not alter the video or audio signal quality in any way. All video and
audio signals are switched and then passed through FireBall to your home theater system.
Because video and audio signals are switched, you must use matching cable types
between your changers, FireBall, and your home theater.
Note: Surround Mode Settings is compatible with select Denon and Marantz A/V receivers
with RS-232 control. Please contact Escient or your Escient dealer for more information
about this feature.
