Load External Metadata
Use this workspace to ingest the external video clip metadata (native metadata). The
ProxSysMA Metadata column lists the MA metadata tags used by the MA server to perform
content search and retrieve operations. It is important to identify the external metadata tags
that have the same type of data as the MA server’s tags. The upload utility provides the ability
to translate external tags with different names to the MA server tags. For more information
about metadata see
Metadata Management on page 38.
Use these settings to match external metadata with the MA server’s metadata.
1. Select the type of metadata being uploaded from the Load external metadata
dropdown menu.
The dropdown menu contains a list of metadata standards. Pick the one used during the
recording of the video.
Displayed in the ProxSysMA Metadata column is a list of the MA server metadata
tags. This is a list that the MA server Administrator manages, see
Metadata
Management
on page 38.
2. Assign video clip metadata to each MA metadata tag.
Click on the empty field in the
External metadata column opposite the MA tag. A
dropdown list of video metadata tags appears. Pick the tag whose data is similar to the
MA tag.
3. Click on Save Assignments to complete.
In addition, there are the
Assign Equal Named and Reset All Assignments controls.

Click on this button to automatically assign external metadata tags to MA tags that have the
same name.
