Magnum 6K16-Series models, for –48V and 24V DC & 125VDC and 5V Power
input
Each Magnum Model 6K16-Series Managed Switch (DC option) requires a DC
power source, for 24VDC, -48VDC and 125VDC option or 5VDC input. The wide
range of power input qualifies this product for use in 24VDC, -48VDC as well as
125VDC or 5VDC environments. The 24VDC, -48VDC or 125VDC or 5VDC power
input provides an Ethernet networking product utilizing a special type of power supply
with a proven high-reliability record to fulfill the DC requirement.

B2.0 -48VDC, 24VDC and 125VDC POWER, THEORY OF OPERATION
The -48VDC, 24VDC and
125VDC power options are designed
using diodes inside on each DC power
input line behind the two external power
connection terminals, so that the power
from an external source can only flow
into the hub. This allows the Switch to operate only whenever DC power is correctly
applied to the two inputs. It protects the Switch from incorrect DC input connections. An
