CAUTION: Be very careful when removing or replacing the system board to prevent damaging it.
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 141).
2. Remove the access panel (
Access panel on page 142).
3. Remove the memory modules (
Memory on page 147).
4. Remove the front fan (
Front fan on page 150).
5. Remove the optical drive (
Removing the optical drive on page 151).
6. Remove the hard drive (
Hard drive on page 154).
7. Remove the drive cage (
Drive cage on page 164).
8. Remove the heat sink (
Heat sink on page 157).
9. Disconnect the rear fan cable from the system board.
10. Remove the power button cable from atop the front I/O panel.
11. Disconnect any remaining cables connected to the system board, noting their location for
reinstallation.
12. Remove the front I/O panel:
a. Remove the Torx T15 screw from the right side of the panel that secures it to the front of the
chassis.
