Before removing the display panel, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the display bezel (see
Display bezel on page 77).
Remove the display panel:
1. Position the computer display-side up with the front toward you. Open the display as far as
possible.
2. Remove the four Torx M2.5x6.0 screws (1) that secure the bottom corners of the display
brackets to the display enclosure.
3. Remove the two Phillips M2.5x2.5 screws (2) that secure the top corners of the display brackets
to the display enclosure.
4. Position the display assembly down toward the keyboard (3), almost closing the lid so the
display panel hovers above the keyboard.
5. Lift the display enclosure (4) away from the display until the display cable is visible.
6. Remove the tape (5) that attaches the display cable to the display panel.
