Flash UUID
The EEPROM on the planar board contains the Universal
Unique ID (UUID) — that is, for Microsoft or Internet use.
When you replace the planar board using the Flash UUID
Utility in the ThinkPad CE Utility Diskette. The UUID utility
will automatically assign the UUID via Windows.
Running the Diagnostics
The Diagnostic Program Diskette contains the following
seven programs:

“Audio Resource and Speaker-out Test” on page 45
“PCMCIA WrapCard Test” on page 46
“Modem Dial and Data Transfer Test” on page 46
“FIR Data Transfer Test” on page 46
“USB Connect/Disconnect Test” on page 46
“Fan Diagnostics” on page 46
PQA System Diagnostics
Attention: Before running the PQA Diagnostic Program,
make sure that the write enable tab of the Diagnostic
Program Diskette is set to enable.
Note: Some test items require tools as shown below:
FDD: Erasable 2HD diskette
Parallel: Wrap plug (P/N: 72X8546)
Serial: Wrap plug (P/N: 72X8546)
PCMCIA: PC test card (P/N: 35G4703)
CD-ROM: Any data and audio CDs

Boot from the Diagnostic Program Diskette and select
PQA System Diagnostics Program from PC DOS 7.0
