Hardware Installation
This chapter describes the procedures used to install the MegaRAID
8480 Storage Adapter. It consists of the following sections:

2.1 Requirements
The following items are required for installation:
• A MegaRAID 8480 RAID Controller
• A host system with an available PCI Express expansion slot
• The
MegaRAID 8480
CD, containing the drivers and documentation
• The necessary internal and/or external cables
• SAS or SATA II physical disks
Note:
LSI strongly recommends using an uninterruptible power
supply (UPS).
