OPERATIONS ON DVD DECK
On-Disc Timer Programing is a function used with discs that are
especially intended for a specific program. The disc is then
programed for a program you always watch every day or every
week. Since older programs are automatically overwritten, a single
DVD-RAM/RW (VR mode) disc can be used without worrying
about how much recording capacity remains. (pg. 44)
You can program each disc to timer-record as many as
8programs.
To Make The Disc For On-Disc Timer Programing
1 Load a recordable disc.
2 Press VCR/DVD repeatedly so that the DVD lamp lights up on
the unit.
3 Press PROG/CHECK to access the Program Check screen.
4 When On-Disc Timer Programing is made for the first time
on the disc
Press rt to select “DISC TIMER PRGM”, then press ENTER.
When some programs are recorded on the disc, a caution message
appears. In such a case, backup the programs as required, then
format the disc before making On-Disc Timer Programing. (

When On-Disc Timer Programing has already been made on
the disc
Press rt to select “NEW TIMER PROGRAM”, then press
ENTER.
5 Press rt to set the desired date.
The current date appears on the TV screen. The date you enter
appears in its place.
6 Press we to select “START”, then press rt to set the desired
start time.
Each press of rt advances/goes back the start time in 1-min.
increments.
To advance/go back the start time in 30-min. increments, press and
hold rt.
7 Press we to select “STOP”, then press rt to set the desired
stop time.
Each press of rt advances/goes back the stop time in 1-min.
increments.
To advance/go back the stop time in 30-min. increments, press and
hold rt.
8 Press we to select “CH”, then press rt to select the desired
channel.
If you are using a DBS receiver, see “ATTENTION FOR DBS
RECEIVER USERS” (
pg. 42).
9 Set “DAILY/WEEKLY” option.

It is necessary to set “DAILY/WEEKLY” option for On-Disc Timer
Programing. (
pg. 41, “Daily/Weekly Recording”)
10 Set the other recording options as required.
You can select XP, SP, LP, EP or FR480 mode for “REC MODE”.
However, you cannot select FR (JUST), FR60–FR360 and FR420.

It is not possible to use the Free Rate function. (

11 Press ENTER to access the Program Confirmation screen.
12 Press ENTER to complete timer programing.
To program another timer, repeat steps 3 12.
To Timer-record The Program With The Programed Disc
1 Load a programed disc.
2 Press DVD TIMER (#). The unit turns off and “ ” appears
on the front display panel. The DVD timer lamp also lights up on
the unit and the VCR deck is automatically selected. When the
VCR deck is in timer standby mode, the unit is automatically turned
off.
To disengage the timer mode, press 1 again.
NOTES:
Even if On-Disc Timer Programing is overlapping with other timer
programing, any caution message does not appear. In such a case,
recording will be executed in the descending order of the recording
start time of the program.
On-Disc Timer Programing is not possible on a DVD-RW disc
formatted in video mode. (

The information of a program recorded with On-Disc Timer
Programing is not stored in the library. (
pg. 60)
The play list is not created for the programs recorded with On-Disc
Timer Programing. (
pg. 58)
VCR Plus+ Timer Programing is not possible on the discs used
exclusively for On-Disc Timer Programing.
Manual Timer Programing is not possible on the On-Disc Timer
Programed disc. (
pg. 42)
Basic Recording is not possible on the On-Disc Timer Programed
disc. (
pg. 38)
The On-Disc Timer Programing function does not work on the unit
form other manufactures even if the On-Disc Timer Programed disc is
loaded.
The beginning of a program may not be recorded. Also, if the 1st
program’s recording stop time and the 2nd program’s recording start
time is the same, the ending of the 1st program may not be recorded.
If there is a power cut while recording, the recordings before the
power cut are not guaranteed.
On-Disc Timer Programing
Make sure that the unit’s built-in clock is set properly.
Turn on the unit.
Turn on the TV and select the video channel (or AV mode).
Slide the TV/CABLE/DBS/DVD switch to DVD.

TTENTION:
On-Disc Timer Programing is possible only with the disc for On-
Disc Timer Programing.
If data is recorded on a disc for On-Disc Timer Programing using a
unit from another manufacturer, On-Disc Timer Programing may no
longer function properly.

To timer-record a satellite broadcast using the On-Disc Timer
Programing function:
A Perform “Cable Box and/or DBS Receiver Control Setting
(DVD Deck Only)” (pg. 22).
B Perform “On-Disc Timer Programing” (pg. 43).
C Leave the cable box or DBS receiver’s power on.
