The supplied security screw
requires using a small Phillips
screwdriver to open the Memory
compartment door. The screw
reduces the possibility that the CF card will be mis-
placed or stolen.
1. Remove the plastic pin (c) and then the
retainer (d).
2. Add the screw. Tighten the screw enough so
that the screw cannot be removed with a
fingernail.

13. DIGITAL IN/OUT jacks
RCA jacks for connect-
ing the PMD671 to an
audio component that
accepts or outputs digital
audio signals.
IN: Connect to the digital out of a digital audio
component. PCM audio data input at 44.1. 48,
88.2 and 96 kHz can be recorded.
Digi-IN must be selected using the INPUT button.

OUT: Connect to the digital in of a digital audio
component.
Only files with sampling frequencies of 44.1,
48, 88.2 or 96 kHz can be output.
Digital audio is only output during normal or
EDL playback.
The receiving component must be able to
accept audio in SPDIF (IEC-958-II) format.
The receiving component must be able to
accept a sampling frequency of 44.1, 48, 88.2
or 96 kHz.
14. DC IN 15V jack
Plug the supplied AC power
pack in this jack. The
power supplied is 1.0A at
15V AC.
The PMD671 automatically switches to adapter
power if it was running on battery power. If AC
power is interrupted by a power outage or un-
plugging the power pack, the PMD671 automati-
cally switches to battery power.
15. USB port
Plug the supplied USB cable in
this port and connect the other
end to your computer (PC or
MAC).
The USB (2.0) connection makes it easy to copy
audio files to your computer's hard drive or a CD.
This connection can only be made active when
the PMD671 is off (neither recording nor during
playback).
