Wireless Cable Voice Gateway Model CVG824G Reference Manual
2-8 Wireless Configuration
v1.0, November 2006
WPA-PSK (WiFi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key)
Not all wireless adapters support WPA-PSK. Furthermore, client software is required on the client.
Windows XP and Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 or above do include the client software that
supports WPA. Nevertheless, the wireless adapter hardware and driver must also support WPA.
Consult the product document for your wireless adapter and WPA client software for instructions
on configuring WPA settings.
To configure WPA-PSK:
1. From the Wireless Settings page, select WPA-PSK.
2. In the Passphrase Key field under Security Encryption (WPA-PSK), enter a word or group of
printable characters and the Key Lifetime.
The Passphrase must be 8 to 63 characters in length. The 256 Bit key used for encryption is
generated from this passphrase.
3. Click Apply to save your settings.
Note: If you use a wireless computer to configure WEP settings, you will be disconnected
when you click Apply. Reconfigure your wireless computer to match the new
settings, or access the wireless voice gateway from a wired computer to make
further changes.
