3.2 Software Installation
This section describes how to install the Nikon Scan software that
allows your computer to communicate with the LS-2000. For
reasons of space, detailed installation instructions are not provided
in this user’s guide. Details may be found in the reference guides
provided separately on CD-ROM. Users who would like to review
installation procedures should refer to these reference manuals,
which can be read using the Adobe Acrobat software provided on
the reference CD-ROM.
Step 1—Review the system requirements
To install and run Adobe Acrobat and Nikon Scan, your computer
system must meet the requirements given below.
Macintosh
Macintosh or Power Macintosh with a 68030 CPU or better
Mac OS System 7.1 or later
ColorSync
a minimum of 16 MB RAM available to Nikon Scan (24 MB or
more is recommended) and 5 MB RAM available to Adobe
Acrobat
28 MB or more free hard disk space (100 MB or more is recom-
mended)
video system supporting a color depth of at least sixteen bits, or
32,000 colors (a color depth of twenty-four bits, or 16.7 million
colors, is recommended)
