Cable Assignments
You can use unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) or shielded twisted-pair (STP) cable to
connect to RJ-45 ports.
Use the following cable categories, depending on the type of Ethernet
transmissions on your device.
• 10 BASE-T - 100 Ohm Category 3, 4, 5 twisted pair
• 100 BASE-TX - 100 Ohm Category 5 twisted pair

shows schematics for straight-through and crossover twisted-pair
cables.
