V.28/V.24specificationsatamaximumdatarateof250kBps.Becausetheserialtransceiverisdirectly
connectedtotheFPGAanybithighlevelprotocolcanbeimplementedinlogic.PicoComputing
supportsvariousasynchronous,synchronousandmilitaryserialprotocols.
RS232isthemostcommonphysicallayerprotocolforserialdata.Itisthestandardusedonserialmice
forcomputers,modems,consumerGPSreceiversandevensomemilitaryradios.Onlyonewireis
neededtosendasignalonanRS232link.AtotaloftwodevicesareallowedonasingleRS232link.
Inaddition,therearetwopossiblelogicstatesonanRS232line(highandlow).Thehighvoltageis
