Appendix E: MXU2 and Paragon
The MXU2 can be connected directly to a Paragon (UMT8) channel from the RJ45 user port. This
will enable clustered access to all servers connected to the MXU2 from any user logged into the
Paragon system. If a second user access path is required, the local KVM ports can be connected
to a UMT8 main switching unit with the use of a UKVMP (CIM).
The diagram below (Figure 19) shows the configuration options available for connecting the
MXU2 directly to the UMT8 with either one or two user paths.
Please refer to the Paragon Administrators Installation and Users Guide for menu option settings
to enable the access of servers connected to the MXU2. When the MXU2 is used as a cluster
access device from the Paragon, please refer to the Prepare Second-Tier MasterConsole MXU2
section on page 17 of this manual.
