Programming a system PIN
The system PIN is a 4-digit ID number that is used to prevent unauthorized
registration of a cordless handset in a fax machine. When the system PIN is
set to a number other than 0000 (the initial factory setting), a cordless handset
must be registered using custom registration and the correct system PIN must
be entered on the cordless handset during registration. Follow these steps to
program a system PIN in the fax machine.
To prevent other people from adding or removing cordless handsets without
your authorization, it is recommend that you change the system PIN to a
number other than 0000.
1 On the fax machine, press once
and once.
2 Press once and once.
3 Press once.
4 Enter the current system PIN (4 digits).
The system PIN is initially set to 0000 at the factory.
To clear a mistake, press .
5 Press .
6 Enter the new system PIN that you wish to program (4 digits).
7 Press .
