Make sure the mute setting is off in your DVD player.

Check the master volume setting in the audio Mixer. If you have connected
speakers externally, check the volume settings in your computer speakers and
check the connections between your speakers and the computer.

Check the Windows Control Panel/System/Device Manager to see that the
drivers are installed properly.
A dirty or damaged disc may cause the computer to “hang” while it tries to read
the disc. If necessary, reboot the computer, remove the disc, and then check that it
is not dirty or damaged.
When I double-click an application icon a message such as “You must insert the
application CD into your CD-ROM drive” appears and the software does not start
Some titles require specific files that are located on the application’s DVD-ROM /
CD-ROM disc. Insert the disc and try starting the program again.
Make sure you place the disc in the tray with the label side facing up.
My floppy disk drive can’t write to a diskette
The diskette is write-protected. Disable the write-protect feature or use a diskette
that is not write-protected.
Check that the diskette is properly inserted into the floppy disk drive.
About sound
My speakers are not producing sound
The built-in speakers may be turned off. Press Fn+F3 to turn on the speakers.
The speaker volume may be turned to the minimum. Press Fn+F4, and then press
V
or
b
to increase the volume.
When playing DVD movies on
battery power, set the power
management profile to DVD.
With other profiles, the movies
are choppy.
Depending on the display setup
properties you selected, you may
use Fn+F command to expand
the screen to full screen size.
Region codes indicators are
labeled on the DVD discs to
indicate in which region and
what type of player can play the
disc. Unless a “2” or “ALL” is
labeled on your DVD disc or on
the packaging, you cannot play
the disc on this player.
