When handling a battery, be careful not to drop it or short-circuit its
terminals.
To change the battery:
1 Save your work.
2 Shut down and turn off the computer.
3 Remove all cables connected to the computer.
4 Turn the computer over.
5 If the battery lock is in the locked position (towards the
center of the computer), slide it towards the edge of the
computer to unlock it.
6 Slide the battery release latch to release the battery.

7 Pull the discharged battery module out of the computer.
Removing the discharged battery
If the battery is leaking or its case is cracked, put on protective
gloves to handle it, and discard it immediately following the advice
in the electronic user’s guide.
8 Insert the charged battery into the slot until the latch
clicks.
