OPERATION
Using the Phonebook in MS-DOS
You may use the Phonebook to store up to 1,000 names,
company names, and fax numbers to which you frequently send
faxes. The Phonebook fills in several of the fields within the Fax
Pop-up menu and cover page, and saves you time when
transmitting a fax. The Phonebook is used also to send a fax to
multiple recipients at the same time. This is called a Broadcast
fax.
Access the Phonebook from the Pop-up menu.
Adding Phonebook entries
Follow this procedure to add entries to the Phonebook:
1. Press F2 from the Fax Pop-up menu to display the Fax
Phonebook.
2. Press Insert to display the Phonebook Edit screen.
3. Enter the name, company name, and fax number of the
recipient you are adding to the Phonebook. The fax number
can contain any access codes needed for this recipient.
4. Select the transmission type suitable for the recipient fax
machine from the Resolution field:
Fine or standard are used for standard fax machines.
PostScript is used if the recipient has a fax printer.
5. Each fax printer has a password. Passwords are limited to 30
characters or less. If you select PostScript for the Resolution
field, the Fax Password screen displays. Ask your recipient
for their password, and enter it in this screen.
6. To save this entry in the Phonebook, press F10.
Using the Phonebook to send a fax
Follow this procedure to use the Phonebook:
1. Press F2 from the Fax Pop-up menu to display the Fax
Phonebook screen.
2. Use the arrow keys to highlight the entry required and press
Enter. The Fax Pop-up menu now displays the name and fax
number of the recipient you chose. If you elected to use a
cover page, the names and fax number fields are filled in.
Send the fax.
Editing a Phonebook entry
Follow this procedure to edit a Phonebook entry:
1. Press F2 from the Fax Pop-up menu to display the
Phonebook.
2. Highlight the entry you want to edit and press F2.
The Phonebook Edit screen appears with the fields filled in.
3. Use the arrow keys to move through the entries and
overtype the characters you want to change. If you change
