This issimilar to a very short satin stitch and is used
to reinforce points of strain such as corners, pockets

Overcasting Stitch

This is usefulin garment construction and infinishing raw edges
of any sewing project°
Start overcasting about 1/8" (0.3 cm) inside the raw comer of
a seam. If you start right at the edge, fabric bunches up and
the stitches become tangted_
