2.5.4 PCI Express x16 slots
This motherboard supports two ATI
CrossFire™ PCI Express x16 graphics
cards that comply with the PCI
Express specications. The gure
shows two graphics cards installed on
the PCI Express x16 slots.
Refer to the next page for the list
of qualied PCI Express x16 graphics
cards for this motherboard.

In CrossFire™ mode, install the master card in PCIEX16_1 (blue slot).
Each PCI Express x16 slot works at x8 bandwidth.
•
In single card mode, install the VGA card in PCIEX16_1 (blue slot) to
avail of full x16 bandwidth. Installing in PCIEX16_2 (black slot) will
cause the card to run at x8 bandwidth only.

Connect the EZ Plug™ when using two graphics cards and a 20-pin
ATX power supply, or if the cards do not have auxiliary power plugs.
2.5.5 PCI slots
The PCI slots support cards such as
a LAN card, SCSI card, USB card, and
other cards that comply with PCI
specications. The gure shows a
LAN card installed on a PCI slot.
2.5.6 PCI-X slots
The PCI-X slots support cards such as
a LAN card, SCSI card, USB card, and
other cards that comply with PCI-X
1.0 specications. The gure shows a
RAID card installed on a PCI-X slot.
