1.1 Safety Guidelines
This procedure is intended for use only by qualified servicetechnicians who have been trained andauthorized
by BARCO !
WARNING: HotSurface and Riskof Explosion:Switch the projectorto stand byand let itcool down forat least
15 minutes . These lamps consist of a quartz arc tube operating at very high t emperature and high pressure
which may explode suddenly. There is a risk of personal injury and property damage from hot quartz arc tube
particles if handled incorrectly.
WARNING: Risk of Electrical Shock: Power dow n the p rojector and u np lug the power cord from the wall
outlet. Once the p r ojector is cooled down and the p ower is off, continue with the procedure.
WARNING: Lamp Ru ntime Warning: Do not exceed the indicated maximum total li
fetime o f the lamp for safe
operation in no rmal power mode. D o not use it longer ! Always replace the lam p with the BARCO lamp kit.
1.2 Recycling guidelines

CAUTION: To avoid breaking the lamps, repack carefull
y when storing and transporting them.
CAUTION: Lamps may not be disposed as normal household trash.
Contact your local waste disposal f acilit y for inf
ormation on the recycling pro gram for HID (High Intensity
Discharge ) lamps in your area.

Disposal options for mercury-containing lamps
• Recycle through a municipal or solid waste district household hazardous waste collection program in accordance with local
regulations.
• Direct shipment to lamp recycler
• Shipment through a hazardous waste transporter
