Cisco MGM Server Error Messages
Error Message EID-212: Error waiting on a semaphore.
Recommended Action
If the Cisco MGM server starts, ignore this internal error. If the server does not
start, increase the memory or swap space on the server workstation.
Error Message EID-218: Memory corruption: bad header.
Recommended Action
Restart the Cisco MGM server.
Error Message EID-219: Memory corruption: bad footer.
Recommended Action
Restart the Cisco MGM server.
Error Message EID-226: Error creating socket.
Recommended Action
If the Cisco MGM server starts, ignore this internal socket-related error. If the
server does not start, check the /etc/system file on the server workstation for the following lines:
set rlim_fd_max=XXX
set rlim_fd_cur=YYY
The value of XXX should be greater than or equal to 4096. The value of YYY should be greater than
or equal to 2048. The value of rlim_fd_max should be greater than the value of rlim_fd_cur. Adjust
the values; then, restart the server workstation.
Error Message EID-227: Error in socket bind.
Recommended Action
If the Cisco MGM server starts, ignore this internal socket-related error. If the
server does not start, check the /etc/system file on the server workstation for the following lines:
set rlim_fd_max=XXX
set rlim_fd_cur=YYY
The value of XXX should be greater than or equal to 4096. The value of YYY should be greater than
or equal to 2048. Adjust the value; then, restart the server workstation.
Error Message EID-228: Error in socket listen.
Recommended Action
This is an internal error. If the Cisco MGM server is not operating normally,
restart the server.
Error Message EID-229: Invalid socket.
Recommended Action
This is an internal error; no action is required.
Error Message EID-232: Error establishing connection.
Recommended Action
The MGMServer.cfg file has been corrupted. Reinstall the Cisco MGM server.
