Removing the Heatsink
1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
2. Remove:
a. battery
b. bottom cover
c. GPU module (optional)
3. Perform the following steps to remove the Heatsink:
a. Loosen the screws (in order) that secure the heat sink to the system board. [1,2,3,4]
NOTE: These screws are retained by the heatsink and should not be fully removed.
b. Lift and remove the heatsink from the computer.

4. Clean the old thermal grease and apply a replacement thermal pad (if available).
Installing the Heatsink
1. Align the heatsink to its position on the system board.
2. Install the screws that secure the heatsink to the system board.
3. Install:
a. GPU module (optional)
b. bottom cover
c. battery
4. Follow the procedures in After Working Inside Your Computer.
