white bands

lines
appear
on printed pages.
The transfer charger wire may be dirty. Clean the wire as
described in Chapter 6.
The lens of the toner cartridge may be dirty. Open the front
cover, remove the toner cartridge, and place it on a clean, flat
surface. Locate the clear lens that runs the length of the cartridge
and is located beneath the lengthwise wire screen. Remove the
tape on the side of the lens and slide the lens out of the cartridge.
Wipe the lens with a soft clean dry lintfree cloth, moving left to
right without stopping. Reinsert it in the cartridge until it clicks
in place. Then reinsert the toner cartridge in the printer and close
the front cover.
If the print quality problem persists, replace the photoconductor
unit as described in Chapter 6.
Horizontal black
or
white bands appear on printed pages.
The transfer charger wire may be dirty. Clean the wire as
described in Chapter 6.
There may be a problem with the toner cartridge. Replace the
cartridge as described in Chapter 6.
There may be a problem with the photoconductor unit. Replace
the photoconductor unit as described in Chapter 6.
Periodic dirty marks appear in the printout.
If the marks are approximately 10-20 mm (2/5 to 4/5 inch) in length,
replace the toner cartridge as described in Chapter 6.
If the marks are approximately 60-180 mm (2% to 7 inches) in
length, there may be a scratch on the photoconductor unit.
Replace the photoconductor unit as described in Chapter 6.
