Mandrels for Multimode Transmit Reference Cables
When testing multimode links using an overfilled LED source, always wrap the transmit
reference cable five (5) times around the proper diameter mandrel. This is specified by
TIA/EIA-568-B and improves insertion loss measurement repeatability and accuracy. Do NOT
use mandrels on multimode receive reference cables or singlemode reference cables.
