NOTE Before printing, check that the printer has paper and the
proper ribbon installed, and that it is powered on. Both
the power and On Line lights should remain solid
throughout the printing process. If the On Line begins to
flash, refer to Section 11 of this manual.
Miscellaneous
MultiFinder
When using the FARGO driver with MultiFinder,
you may need to increase the amount of memory
allocated to the application that is printing. The
preset memory size for many applications is too
small for the FARGO driver to work efficiently.
Before using an application with MultiFinder,
increase the memory by 1-2 Mb beyond the
suggested size.
NOTE
Type the number of copies you require into the
Copies box. Select All to print the entire document,
or From to print a range of pages. Specify the range
by typing the first and last page numbers
(inclusively) into the boxes. Select Reverse Order
to print the last page of your document first and
your first page last.
Click OK to print the document. Status messages
display during processing:
Less memory is required by the application if the
FARGO Backgrounder is being used. Since
Backgrounder processes the print job, the extra memory
is allocated to it, instead of the application.
Fonts
The FARGO driver works with any Macintosh
bitmapped font that is installed in the System File.
The FARGO driver also works with Adobe Type
Manager (ATM) and System 7 TrueType fonts.
When using ATM, a font cache of at least 256K is
recommended. Problems with poor quality text at
very large point sizes are usually caused by ATM
having a font cache that is too small.
