1. Open the printerÕs
top cover with the
Cover Release Lever.
2. Remove the Ribbon
Cartridge from the
printer. (The Ribbon
Cartridge should also
be cleaned by wiping
out each end of the
cartridge with a moist
cloth. This will prevent
dust buildup.)
3. Remove the Paper
Output Tray.
4. Remove the screw
on the front of the
printer, located just
above the Paper Output
Tray.
5. Gently pull out the
Output Assembly. It
will only pull out about
two inches. Clean
inside the opening and
remove any debris that
may be inside.
6. If you have access
to a very small vacuum
cleaner (most computer
stores sell devices just
for this purpose), use it
to vacuum out all
visible areas inside the
printer. If you donÕt
have such a device, use
a soft, lint-free rag
slightly moistened with
isopropyl alcohol to
wipe out all visible
areas inside the
printerÕs cabinet. Be
extremely careful not
to let any alcohol drip
inside the printerÕs
case.
7. Re-install the
Output Assembly, the
Paper Output Tray, and
replace the screw.
