Preferred VOCODER (Codec)
The GXW40XX supports a broad range of voice codecs. Under Profile web pages, choose your preferred
order of different codecs:
PCMU/A (or G711µ/a)
G729 A/B/E
G723
G726 (16/24/32/40)
iLBC
AAL2 (all G726)
DEFINITIONS
This section will describe the options in the Web configuration user interface. As mentioned, a user can
log in as an administrator or end-user.
Functions available for the end-user are:
STATUS: Displays the network status, account status, software version and MAC-address of the
phone
BASIC SETTINGS: Basic preferences such as date and time settings, multi-purpose keys and
LCD settings can be set here.
Additional functions available to administrators are:
ADVANCED SETTINGS: To set advanced network settings, codec settings and XML
configuration settings.
PROFILE X: To configure each of the SIP accounts.
FXS PORTS
: To configure each of the FXS ports and Hunting Groups etc.

ABLE 7: BASIC SETTINGS
End User Password
Password to access the Web Configuration Menu. This field is case sensitive with a
maximum length of 25 characters.
Web Port
By default, HTTP uses port 80. This field is for customizable web port.
Telnet Server
Default is Yes.
IP Address
There are two modes to operate the GXW40XX :
DHCP mode: The GXW40XX acquires its IP address from the first DHCP serv
er it
discovers from the LAN It is on.
PPoE: Set the PPPoE account settings. The GXW40XX
will establish a PPPoE
session if any of the PPPoE fields is set.
Static IP mode: configure
the IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Router IP
address, DNS Server 1 (pr
imary), DNS Server 2 (secondary) fields. These fields are
set to zero by default.
