To remove the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 26).
2. Extend the server from the rack (on page 26).
3. Remove the access panel (on page 28).
4. If the existing cache is connected to a battery, observe the FBWC Status LED ("FBWC module LEDs" on
page 87).
o If the LED is flashing every 2 seconds, data is still trapped in the cache. Restore system power, and
then repeat the previous steps.
o If the LED is not illuminated, disconnect the battery cable from the cache.
5. Disconnect the cable.
6. Remove the battery pack.
The SPI board is removed for clarity.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
