Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 46), and then remove the following components:
a.
Hard drive (see
Hard drive on page 47)
b. Optical drive (see
Optical drive on page 54)
c. Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 57)
d. Top cover (see
Top cover on page 61)
Remove the TouchPad button board:
1. Turn the top cover upside down, with the front toward you.
2. Release the TouchPad button board ZIF connector (1) to which the TouchPad button board cable
is connected, and then disconnect the cable from the TouchPad button board.
3. Release the TouchPad board ZIF connector (2) to which the TouchPad button board cable is
connected, and then disconnect the cable from the TouchPad board.
4. Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×3.5 screws (1) that secure the TouchPad button board bracket to
the top cover.
5. Lift the rear edge of the TouchPad button board bracket (2) until it rests at an angle.
